Some of the hard work and commitment to the preservation of history in the Swedish Smoky Valley must be recognized. Here is an incomplete list of some of the projects members and friends have taken part in.
The First Project: Coronado Heights
The earliest project consisting of several projects continues today in the maintenance of Coronado Heights.
These projects began in 1919 under the Lindsborg Historical Society name
and continues under the
Smoky Valley Historical Association name of 1963.

After all of the foundational work that the early leaders did for Coronado Heights beginning in 1919 that continued into the 21st Century, it was destined to become part of the "8 Wonders of Kansas Geography" as sponsored by the Kansas Sampler Foundation due to the research and story by Lindsborg resident and Swedish descendant, Mrs. Ruth Peterson, with photographs provided by resident Mrs. Carla Wilson.
