Dr. Lindquist wrote his heart out for his Lindsborg and the Smoky Valley Swedes. He knew time was of the essence to get as much information down and dived in. He kept writing until his death and had just finished Lindsborg's Birger Sandzén, An Illustrated Biography which found him nearly blind before his death, and he did not see this book published. He and his family sacrificed a lot of their family time to ensure that Swedish America on the Central Plains of Kansas would be recognized and remembered from its earliest beginnings!
