This would be most likely the only time ever a King of Sweden would visit Bethany Home in Lindsborg, Kansas.
It was an exclusive "Bethany Home" Swedish Royal Visit that Mr. Carlson captured for Lindsborg's Swedish history.

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the King's visit to Lindsborg and Bethany Home, historian and author Bill Carlson, the 1976 administrator of the Home at that time, authored a special article to remember that most important royal Swedish event in the history of Lindsborg, for the Lindsborg News-Record's edition on Thursday, April 14, 2016.
In the article, he mentioned that the King made a very special visit to the Bethany Home to visit with eleven (11) native born Swedes. These 9 residents were: Mrs. Anna Warner, Mrs. Christine Axelson, Mr. C.A. Berggren, Mrs. Ellen Rhodes, Mr. Enoch Storm, Mrs. Anna Natsen, Mrs. Emily Heglund, Mr. O. E. Danielson, and Mr. Albert "Berky" Berquist. The two others were staff members of the Home: Mrs. Amy Englund and Mrs. Ragnhild Bengtson.

Mr. Carlson mailed this account to me, in draft form, that he would later submit to the LNR of this once-in-a-lifetime Lindsborg Bethany Home Swedish Royal Crown visit. The title of his article was
"Special Visitor to Lindsborg, April 17, 1976, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden."
He was happy for me to share it in SWEDES, as his January 29, 2016, email attested then, "Why sure, if needed, any of the info included is ok with us. Have at it." Yet, it took me a couple of years to include it in SWEDES, unfortunately, and Mr. Carlson never saw it.
He may have revised this draft some before submitting it to the LNR editor Mr. John Marshall who caught the typo found on page 2 of the year "1995" and corrected it to "1975." As newspaper editors need to do appropriately, Mr. Marshall changed Mr. Carlson's title to "Remembering a king's visit: Lindsborg Hosts King Carl Gustaf XVI."
