Swedish Immigration Story, 1854
The Swedish Sohlberg Kosta Glass
This book was an unexpected beautiful gift from those part of the "Orrefors Kosta Boda" group in Kosta, Sweden following my visit to the Kosta Glasbruk Factory in 2016. Looking through it, I realized that the glass I had might be Kosta. I found the pattern in the book and realized that all the glass was Kosta and that Ulric Sohlberg or his family must have sent these pieces to his son Ernst who had immigrated to Kansas and had then moved on to Santa Monica, California, where the pieces were delivered.
The two centered pictures on the wall are of Ulric Sohlberg, Kosta Glasbruk Factory Superintendent (c1860-1880), and his wife Antoinette Sohlberg.
