Southern California
Lydia would make periodic trips to Southern California (Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica) to visit her sister Selma and brother-in-law/cousin Ernest Sohlberg and their daughter, her niece Nina who she photograph so much in Lindsborg. They had moved there in the early 1920s.
These were some of Lydia's Santa Monica Beach photographs of Nina's children (Lois, born in 1923, and Frances, born in 1924, and a niece, Ila Sohlberg, born in 1921), which she would used later to sketch adding to all the other California sketches.
